Hi Sjaeful,

I'm giving this thread a new subject to be about OJS 3. Unfortunately, I believe the answer is still no. I say this because I just looked at https://github.com/pkp/pkp-lib/issues/1822 and I don't see any movement on that issue. In the attached screenshot, you'll see that six of us have given that issue a thumbs up and I'd encourage anyone reading this who wants a Dataverse plugin for OJS 3 to also give it a thumbs up and consider leaving a comment.

The most recent discussion about the OJS plugin is here and you'll see that OJS developer Alex commented: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/dataverse-community/eQsh9XzDlM0/GKtE1IiqBQAJ

More recently, about a year ago, I noticed a tweet by OJS developer Alec at https://twitter.com/asmecher_pkp/status/998963165957382145 and at https://twitter.com/philipdurbin/status/999090167775399936 I suggested the same thing I'm suggesting above, to leave comments on that issue #1822.

I just searched for "Dataverse" in the OJS forum and found this post by Obi from 9 days ago: https://forum.pkp.sfu.ca/t/dataverse-plugin-for-ojs-3-x/53495 . It would probably be good to comment there as well.

To summarize, please make your voices heard. Also, if you are a PHP developer and want to contribute help, I imagine OJS would be happy for volunteers! :)

The news on Dataverse support for OJS 3.x is that there is a new #dataverse channel in https://teampkp.slack.com and a new pull request at https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse-ojs-plugin/pull/1

At a high level, what's happening is that the plugin has been forked to that new "dataverse-ojs-plugin" git repo under IQSS but the plan is for it to be community supported.

So! If you are a PHP developer or want to get involved in testing Dataverse with OJS 3 (when the rewritten plugin is ready), please get involved. You can simply reply to this thread, let me know if you'd like to be in the Slack channel above, comment on the pull request above, open an issue in the repo above, etc.

Thanks!

Phil

Would this plugin work for just OJS or would it work for Ubiquity Press users? Ubiquity is partly built on OJS -

UVa has a journal "press" that is hosted by Ubiquity. Maybe we could test down the road??

Hi Sherry,

I asked in that PKP/OJS Slack channel I mentioned and here's the answer:

"They are running a modified version, really a fork, of OJS @ in the backend; I'm not sure if the Dataverse plugin works with their fork or not."

The further suggestion is to contact Ubiquity support. Please feel free to let them know about the pull request above! Maybe they can help support the plugin. :)

Thanks,

Phil

Thanks, Humberto, if you or others reading this would like to join the new #dataverse channel at https://teampkp.slack.com please let me know and I'll add you. I asked the PKP/OJS folks and they said it's ok. :)
