This Friday, Dataverse has been invited to have a table a SpinachCon, an afternoon-long open house aimed at improving the experience of using and contributing to open source software projects.

The event is in downtown Boston at Bocoup ( https://bocoup.com ): 201-207 South Street, Suite 102 Boston near South Station on the Red Line.

At the Dataverse table Elizabeth Quigley will be doing usability testing and I'll be available to help new contributors.

There will also be tables for the following fabulous projects:
This is only SpinachCon's second year (and the first in which Dataverse will be participating) but last year's event looked fantastic: http://blog.linuxgrrl.com/2014/03/25/hyperkitty-at-the-0th-spinachcon/

That post has a nice description of last year's event: "'What the heck is a SpinachCon?' you may ask. Well, the idea is that there are free software projects that have niggling usability issues. Like pointing out to a friend that they have spinach stuck in their teeth, SpinachCon is an event where free software fans can show up and let the participating free software projects know whether or not they have ‘spinach in their teeth,’ and between what teeth that spinach might be."

More information about this year's SpinachCon can be found at https://libreplanet.org/wiki/Event:LibrePlanet/LibrePlanet/3-18-2016_-Event_1 and lunch is provided if you RSVP there.

If you're in the Boston area and can swing by on Friday, please do!

Phil
