Hi all,

With EZID on its way to no longer being a provider for non UC schools, there has been some momentum to investigate the feasibility of creating a Dataverse Community Consortium to support one single DataCite membership for all Dataverse installations.

Is this something that would interest you or your organization? If so, we are planning a call to discuss this Thursday at 2pm. Please let me know and I can send you the call info.

Additionally, we'll make notes available for those can't make the call.

Thanks,
Gustavo

Hi Gustavo,

We can talk more on our Dataverse Call today, but UVa is going to be part of our state consortium membership. Uva has more than just LibraData-Dataverse repository. We use EZID (DataCite) for three other repositories.

Here's the pricing our consortium was given. Each Data center is considered an account. So for our Virginia state schools - 1 membership, 12 accounts (each institution splitting the membership cost, each paying for our own accounts & DOI fees).

Cost Categories (dollars)
Annual Membership Fee   $2,378.46
Annual Fee for Data Centers (MDS accounts)
Range Break Point  Fee
0-1 0 $594.62
2-5 2 $1,189.23
6-10 6 $3,567.69
11-50 11 $7,135.38
51 and up 51 $11,892.30

Annual Fee for DOIs
Range Break Point  Fee
0-10,000 0 $594.62
10,001-100,000 10,001 $2,378.46
100,001 and up 100,001 $3,571.05

Hi Gustavo,

TDL may be interested in this -- will you be recording the call? It might be tricky to make it since we'll be traveling. Still, please do share the call info.

Kindly,
Courtney

We might be interested at QDR -- please send the call info along when you get a chance.
Best,
Sebastian
