I just uploaded a video to YouTube:

http://blogs.harvard.edu/pdurbin/2017/10/14/dataverse-talk-at-libreplanet-2017/

This was me trying to explain Dataverse to a non-academic audience, a bunch of open source enthusiasts. It was especially interesting to hear the questions that were on their mind:

- How long will the data be preserved?
- Can the data be replicated to various sites?
- What if an institution wants to get out of the data hosting game?

Anyway, it was fun and I think it turned out ok. What do you think? :)

Thanks,

Phil

Well done! You seem to be getting close to your 10K hours on presenting Dataverse :-)

Phil, Danny, Mercè...

After watching Phil's YouTube video, YouTube then played a another "dataverse" video, but it wasn't OUR dataverse https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sDubQT2Dmg it was "Dataverse by Lavastorm" http://www.yourdataverse.com

According to Internet Archive (that usually is an accurate picture of the origin of a web page), this web page started in April 2017.

Ever heard of this other Dataverse?

Hey Sherry,

Thanks for the heads up. We've seen this, and we're taking a look.
