Hello folks,

I've been thinking of running the excellent setting from Palladium's Nightspawn using Wild Talents and the ORE, and here's my initial proposal. Any thoughts?

-------------------------------------------------

Building a Nightspawn

Baseline [90 points]
Build a starting character using 90 points, devoting at least 45 points to Stats, and the remainder to Skills and Base Will.

Add to the baseline:
Archetype: Nightspawn [124 points]

Source: Paranormal [0 points]
Permission: Super [15 points]
Intrinsic: Mandatory Nightspawn Traits
• See in Total Darkness 2HD [8 points]
Useful, 2 pts/die
• Immune to Mind Control 4HD [24 points]
Useful, permanent +4, self only -3, 3 pts/die
• Immune to Physical Transformation 4HD [24 points]
Useful, permanent +4, self only -1, 3 pts/die
• Regeneration 2HD [16 points]
Useful, engulf (affects all body locations) +2, permanent +4, self only -3, limited to width one -1, 4pts/die
• Sense Nightspawn 4d [8 points]
Useful, 2pts/die
• Mirror Walk to Nightlands 5d [5 points]
Useful, slow -2, miminum height five -1, 1pt/die
• The Becoming 6d [24 points]
Useful, goes last -1, endless +3, 4pts/die
Note: I'm deliberately not using the cumbersome alternate forms rules. As this simplification will apply to everyone in the campaign, it shouldn't be a problem

Morpheus Powers: All have If/Then (only in Morpheus) attached

Talents: All have “Willpower Cost” attached

All Nightspawn begin with the following morpheus powers: Starting Morpheus Powers [36 points]

• Hyperstat: Body +2d [8 points]
• Hyperstat: Coordination +1d [4 points]
• Extra Tough 2HD [16 points]
Useful, engulf +2, permanent +4, self only -3, morpheus only -1, 4pts/die
• Light Armor 2HD [8 points]
Defends, armored defense -2, permanent +4, morpheus only -1, limited width -1, 2pts/die

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

That gives a starting cost of 90 points (baseline) + 124 points (Nightspawn) + 36 points (core Morpheus powers) for a total of 250 points.

To this, have the characters select Morpheus powers—either via selection, random generation, or a combination. Spend 100 points to simulate these Morpheus powers, for a final character cost of 350 points. If excess points remain in the “budget” or at player discretion, buy additional State, Skills, or Base Will.
