Ok, so I need to step up the search for an officemate/ deskshare person as it looks like I might be going on contract off-site of WeWork Soho by MONDAY!!!

I work in a 6-desk office in a 5th floor office – first floor of WeWork Soho to ever be converted, so it’s a piece of history – new lights/ fan/ shelf/ rack I’ve got one FT (full-time) desk available on the 5th floor (used to be next to the WeWork Labs) at WeWork Soho [not the new WeWork Soho].

The office comes with 24/7 building access [passkey coded elevator access, office has a separate key], free coffee/ tea/ snacks (yay Keurig machine!), refrigerator, conference room use, and use of the building “lounge” creative/ brainstorming space on the 4th floor; free access/ invitation to all WeWork events.

The office locks with a door key, includes a filing cabinet and a key.

The FT desk is available immediately with space for a desktop computer/ large and sits 1 or 2 people as it is 6 feet across.

The desk can be available now, definitely 08/31.

All,

I've recently taken a position as editor of H+ Magazine (http://hplusmagazine.com) and we are doing a special issue, really a month long series of related articles, on the future of work?

Do you have some thoughts to share on co-working, high technology and the future of work?

We're especially interested in exotic ideas that might combine mobile tech, augmented reality, telepresence and co-working and collaborative environments.

The theme of this issue is the future of performance and performance art and how this relates to the future of work. It is essentially my thesis that work as we know it today is going to disappear and be replaced with performance, fun, music, and dance. In a an abundant society where wealth is produced by automation, value will be produced through human interaction and performance. Moreover, much of this performance will occur in virtual or hybrid mixed reality spaces. Can work be a celebration? A dance? A jam session?

Other people doing articles or interviews include Linda Rogers who has been holding classical musical performances in Second Life, Mark Petrakis aka Spoonman who started the Anon Salon here in SF (an early pre-burning man art event and party), musician and controllerist Moldover, J Walt creator of the Anitar (a sort of guitar that makes 3D animations instead of music), Natasha Tsokas  and possibly a few other folks.

Sound interesting? Send me a brief email proposal to kick things off.

Regards,

Peter Rothman
Editor, H+ Magazine
