Hello coworkers! How are you?

I've received a link from a friend (and coworker) about Dabble, an online marketplace that let people learn or teach new skills: http://www.springwise.com/lifestyle_leisure/online-community-marketplace-lets-users-discover-teach-host-class/

As it depends on physical places, I think it could be a very good option for coworking spaces.

For a brazilian guy like me, it's something really new but very interesting!

What do you think about? Have someone already doing it?

Best regards!

Thanks for that link! My first impression is that this is a great concept...if I think otherwise after digging into it, I'll let you know. ;)

Thanks for passing this along, Cadu!

There's another similar marketplace called Skillshare that empowers anyone to be a teacher of something they're passionate about. We've hosted several Skillshare classes here at Loosecubes, and have met some awesome new coworkers as a result of it.

I definitely recommend checking it out, although I don't think they've expanded to BR quite yet.

we have been discussing the idea of a "skillsharing market" for
coworking spaces here in germany at a barcamp.
You can have a look at our concept-ideas here:

Would love to see us build this together as a global community.

Best,

I love your concept list.  I've just been connected with someone from SkillShare to do something similar.

Anna,

I loved SkillShare as well. I intend to start something similar here in Brazil, because unfortunatelly there isn't anything like that here.

I've been getting in touch with our coworkers to share their skills here in BeesOffice to start the movement.

P.S: Do you plan translate LooseCubes to portuguese yet? Coworking is popping up in Brazil and Portugal. I think it could be good for you and I'm very interested in helping you to do it. Let's talk about it again?

Best regards,

Cadu,

Actually, here at Aldeia - Brazil - we've been sharing skills for almost a year. It's been great! If u need any help turning this idea more popular in our country, consider us part of the team.

Yes, Skillsharing is nice, but there are other approaches for learning
at coworking spaces, too. I started my work on www.coworking-akademie.de
/ www.coworking-academy.com more than 6 months before some guys meant
to have some dubios "school"-ideas using exactly the same terms for
several items like me and so on. Since then I stopped sharing ideas
and visions with certain coworkers and I'm thinking about moving into
a shared office of a business center to work on other ideas and
projects there without meeting fans of copycating and other pussies. I
learned that there is one thing you should never forget, even not in
coworking spaces: homo homini lupus. There is always some talk about
"coworking values", but the fact is that it's often just wish-wash
without substance. So if you start working serious on an idea or
project, think about seperating yourself until you are almost
finished. Otherwise you will learn what "openness" and "collaboration"
means for some people....

Yes, Skillsharing and courses at coworking spaces are really a good
topic. I started to work on it at coworking-akademie.de /
www.coworking-academy.com more than 6 months before some guys talked
about having had an idea for a "school". Really funny that they e.g.
used terms of my project and idea and tried otherwise to diddle me.

Since then I stopped sharing ideas and visions with certain coworkers
and now I'm thinking about moving into the shared office of a business
center. Never forget: homo homini lupus. It doesn't matter what
"coworking values" talk about, it's wish-wash. If you start working

serious on an idea or project, think about seperating yourself until
the work is almost completely done. Otherwise some fans of copycats
and their pussies will try to suck you and your idea dry for their
effort.
