Coronium used in App for Mercedes Benz in 16 Countries...

Hi Chris,

First I would like to thank you for your work.

I have been using Coronium for an App we developed for Mercedes, and also mod_parse...

But now I am in trouble waters.... we closed the deal for the Mercedes App for 16 countries... an I have been unable to solve the charset problem...

1- In Corona Editor and running App if I enter the text it works.

2- When I save to Parse.com it display it right, and I can receive it ok as well...

3- But when I use Coronium/Mysql database, the problem begins, all special characters do not display well, in Corona when I receive then, and also in my backoffice, running PHP/Mysql...

Need you help, urgently, can pay for your work...

Hi,

I have researched the issue and have created a patch you can run, like so:

First, log into your Coronium instance via SSH, and copy and paste the following line into your terminal:

wget https://s3.amazonaws.com/coronium-patches/mysql-patch.sh;sudo chmod +x ./mysql-patch.sh;sudo ./mysql-patch.sh

This will work best with a fresh instance, but if you already have databases in the system, make sure that the character set is "UTF8" - Any new databases after the patch will be properly set up with the correct default values.

I have no words to thank you, even Greek works :)

And it was not even Coronium configuration problem, you are really an amazing guy...

I am running My SQL in another server, i just copy your cnf file, and it worked first time, just reboot and voilá....

Regarding Mercedes, we already did a pilot run in Portugal for 3 months, and after the big success, Mercedes Germany now will run it across Europe in 16 countries...

it will be the biggest gamification project from Mercedes in Europe

I will get back to you regarding the donation... very grateful...

Thanks, I cannot  show you the App just now, sorry... but maybe soon I can, it is an internal Mercedes App...
