Autoplay for Youtube - keyword in URL does not work

How can I autoplay a yotube video? I have added the &autoplay keyword in the URL and it does not autoplay. Any ideas? Creating a video item and selecting the Youtube option only allows entering the video ID and it does not autoplay that way either.

It's not impossible you might have to escape the & for a number of reasons. Have you tried that?

That said, autoplaying video has been a running problem, sometimes client browser dependent.

Folks,

Just for your information…Chrome may or may not “autoplay” videos because it depends on an algorithm used in Chrome to calculate the MEI – Media Engagement Index for the user/session !!

Crazy behavior of Chrome now explained when using Concerto Digital Signage and some TV’s autplay and some do not. Very subtle. Made change in settings using:

chrome://flags/#autoplay-policy

All appears well now – the world is once again predictable…

Wait... So it's Chrome calculating this index, not YouTube? Weird. Good catch though. I'm going to be working on documentation this month and I'll make sure I get that into it.

Glad to be able to help. I shouldn’t wait until I am desperate and then pronounce “In the Name of Jesus” to overcome an obstacle. Should be the very first thing I do. He is faithful.
