Compiling a text with lualatex-dev and using the package embrac.sty
(upright brackets/square brackets around italic text, something some
publishers like you to use...) after my last updating TeXLive fails
complaining about the missing macro textsi (italic small caps - who
would want that?? ;-)). The macro should come from fontspec.sty ->
downgrading from fontspec v.2.7e to v.2.7d solves the problem (well,
it works then, but it ain't a solution). I wonder if the dropping (?)
of the macro from fontspec is intentional and if embrac.sty should be
changed?

Thanks,
Rembrandt

PS. Deleting the relevant line in embrac.sty does the trick, too -
unless somebody really needs italic small caps... - that's in general,
since they don't print anymore outside embrac.sty.

System: MacBook Air, OSX 10.13.6 (up to date); up-to-date TeXLive 2019,
using lualatex-dev (LuaHBTeX), Version 1.11.2 (TeX Live 2020/dev) and
fontspec v2.7e (2020/01/09).

Imho yes, it is in line with the changes in NFSS in the new latex
version (and as far as I can see \textsi wasn't documentated). But
the right place to ask this is at the fontspec issue tracker.

> and if embrac.sty should be changed?

Yes.
