It is somewhat model dependent. I looked it up in my 5362 src book and it is
not listed however all the other C9 errors deal with the disk drive. I have
tossed all my 5360 stuff, so can't check that.

Does anybody know what the C972 System Reference Code means ?
The Processor light also is burning.
Does this mean the processor is defective ??
Any help welcome!

I have a 5363, and the manuals just say that i should contact IBM :(
And i dont think they'll be willing to help me.

o.k. on a 5363, a C972 is an IPL disk adapter card failed.
There is a 60% probability that it is the disk adapter card (could just be a
reseat of cable J26 and J27) or 30% it is the disk drive or 5 % chance it is
the cable asm. (according to the IBM S/36 5363 System Unit SRC book)

Yeah i also just found out, thanks anyway!
I think its the card, but now i'll need to find a new one, and thats
gonna be quite hard i think :(
