Well, I think the header says it all. I think that Grand Theft Auto
shows exactly how the british are the masters of humour, as well as
programming (over a third of programmers in the world are british).

I can nly think of a couple of games that impressed me that didn't come
from Britain. Quake I and II, Terminator:Future Shock, Fade to Black
(french game), and... er... well that's all I can think of right now.

In britain: Most 8 bit games of the Eighties, I-War, both Tomb Raider
Games, Destruction Derby I and II, Actua Soccer, Both Wipeout games...
the list goes on.

Just my 4 pence worth.

Hmmm.....I don't know how Grand Theft Auto is humorous in any direct
sense...
Sure, you gotta be a little sick to enjoy it....and its a novel idea, but I
wouldn't call it
funny in any one sense...

I agree, i didn't laugh at all when I ran down the complete Hare
Krisna gang and those big red letters 'BONUS' flashed on the screen.

GTA funny? It's hysterical!

I wonder about british driving... first carmageddon then this...

In the US we are too busy actually acting out road rage
to take the time to slow down and program it...

That's probably why GTA is set in American cities!

Can anybody suggest a US Mailorder vendor who carries GTA?

I've tried most of the local (Chicago) retail stores, and they don't stock
it, though they have plenty of copies of Carmaggedon and Redneck Rampage,
so it's not like they have a problem with ACS's products or violence...

I am only posting this because someone asked. We will not post
unsolicited prices and advertisements in non-business newsgroups.

We have...

http://www.murrayandsons.com/software

right now its $36.50 plus $5.00 shipping.
We have some in stock as of this evening.
You can order it securely online.

The reason they do not yet carry it is... its a British game that has
yet to be released in the USA.

Thanks.
Sorry if this bothers anyone, but it seemed appropriate...
