Visit their webpage. You can order the upgrade for $5 + $4 S&H.

Personally, I don't think we should have to buy the patch. Look at "The
Ultimate Doom": Same as Doom 1 except 1 extra episode, slightly modified
E1M1 or E1M2 and a downloaded patch will patch registered 1.9.

I could be wrong, though.

Actually you only need to pay $5. This was quoted from the website.

I'm unhappy for a different reason than you:

I d/led shareware v1.0 of Tyrian and like you, loved the game. However,
my joystick didn't seem to work real well with it (although it worked
fine with Raptor). I e-mailed Epic about this - a couple times - and
they ignored each letter. I then remembered that supposedly the joystick
problem was fixed in v1.1, so I d/led that. Still didn't work right. I
then e-mailed Epic again, telling them that the upgrade didn't fix my
problem. They finally responded - suggesting that I d/l v1.1 (nice to
know they read my letter SOOOOOO closely). I replied that I already had
and that it didn't help. I also politely reminded them - again - that
this was basically the only thing keeping me from registering. I have
yet to receive any additional replies.

Now, on to v2.0:

D/led this the other night, hoping it would fix my problems with the
joystick. NOPE. Thought I'd play it with the keyboard and see if there
were any improvements. None that I found - I gave up early in the first
level as I found the game completely unplayable with the keyboard. Seems
the game doesn't like having two keys pressed at the same time (space bar
for firing down all the time plus an arrow key for directional). This
was not a problem in either v1.0 or v1.1 - in fact, I completed the
shareware episode in v1.1 using the keyboard. So what I have done?
Deleted v2.0 and kept v1.1. And until they reply to my e-mails, it ain't
getting registered...

Make that $9; apparently it costs an additional $4 to ship it. Those
who didn't buy the game when it was first released get the benefit of paying
less than current users who want the upgrade. Go figure.

I am a registered user as well, and when I called to inquire about the
upgrade they said that registered users get it for $5.00 plus $4.00 s/h!
Nine bucks? Well worth it, I say. Companies are always creating add-ons
for their games, and this one is nicely inexpensive.

My only quibble is they sent me 1.1 again. Now I have to return that
disk and they are going to try and send me the right version (again).

NIce that they released v2.0, too bad that it's
buggier than v1.1. I had the shareware version of v1.1 running
nicely on my system, but the demo for v2.0 is UNPLAYABLE w/ or
w/o joystick port enabled. The ship eventually stops responding
to keyboard input and inevitable flys up to the top-right, bottom-
right, bottom-left etc. part of the screen. Fix this bug (and PROVE
it's fixed) and maybe I'll register for v2.0. BTW, aside from this
MAJOR bug the game actually looks much better than Tyrian v1.1.

I actually had good luck with version 2.0.
My joystick worked just fine right from the start. With version 1.0
I had the same problem with the ship staying in the corner of the
screen. The only problem in 2.0 I have is with the keyboard...if I
use the arrow keys with the alt or ctrl keys the game freezes.
I have to use the numeric keypad for the directional. We like this one
better, it really looks great and the extra levels are fairly
challenging.
