I am trying to get a Quantum P425S to work with trumpcard. The software
is version 1.3g. The drive is not one of the "supported" drives. What is
the latest version, and is the drive supported?

Will I need the latest ROM for the controller to use with WB2.0? I used to
use this card with WB1.3 and old Seagate drive.

Anyone know of upgrade prices? IVS has not been answering their phones lately.

Thanks.

Yep, you'll need the ROM and software, and that's a problem if IVS isn't
answering their phone...

You CAN edit the list of supported drives on the 1.3 software and make it work,
if you know all of the necessary info. That's what I had to do. It wasn't
pretty.

I think I paid $30-$40 for the upgrade.

What we want and what we need has been confused.

You may need more than just ROMs & software if you have a really old
controller.

I have an old model, and I called IVS to see what I needed to upgrade.
They said I needed to upgrade the entire controller (plus software). The
tech I talked to said that their newer boards have a different set of data
lines on them. Any way he said that it would cost (US) $50 if I sent the
old board to them, and $100 dollars if I ordered the board W/O sending in
the old board. $50 would be returned to me if I sent in the old board after
I received the new one. (This was a year and 1/2 ago, BTW).

It took awhile to get my old controller to work with 2.0.

I didn't like the absence of an external connector on my controller,
plus their old "HD set up" program was the pits, so I receintly bought a
SCSI-2 controller from another company, and it works much better. (Maybe
the newer Trumpcard set up program is better. I don't know).
