"Error: The file list has become corrupted - please use the Force
Refresh option" is what I get after each fail on a particular job with
SafeStore2.
Jobs before and after work OK.

I know where to find the 'Refresh' option but clicking it produces no
discernable effect - nothing - and re-running, even after a shut-down
and re-boot, doesn't help.

1. What is meant by 'The file list ... (is) .... corrupted'?
2. Why can't SafeStore2 just get-on and copy the data?
2. What does 'the refresh option' seek to do?
3. How do I know if the refresh action is happening?
4. I had hoped to run the 'job' (ie the folder) through DiscKnight,
but thats not possible, so how else - short of removing internal files
one-by-one - can I trouble-shoot the problem?

It should run the job from scratch, i.e. do a complete backup of everything.

SafeStore keeps a list of files and their datestamps so that it knows which
ones need backing up each time.

Because the list has become corrupted.

See above.

The job should run. If it doesn't, email R-Comp with precise details of what
you're doing and what happens.

I had the same problem recently

I couldn't

I deleted the job, I think I may have done some manual copying, then set
up a new job.

In the jobs list window, either menu over the job in question or right-click
on the Run button.

While we're on the subject, is there a proper discussion forum/mailing
list for Safestore ?

No, not at the moment. I've been meaning to coalesce all my software forums
(Grapevine, Hermes, UniServer) as there isn't a lot of traffic on them these
days, and add SafeStore as well. But time just gets shorter as the years get
longer.

Sorted by Andrew.

The explanation: the job was corrupted somewhere such that force
refresh couldnt 'go' because the corruption hung something in the app.
The solution was shutdown and re-run Safestore and force refresh
-before- the job was run.
