We proceed in last days at installation of vms 6.1 on a Vax 4000 model 300
and received at the beginning of the last boot (during installation) the next
error message:
SYSINIT-E - error mounting system device, status = 007280B4
SYSINIT-E - error opening or mapping F11BXQP, status = 00018272
The system disk is a RF31..
Anyone has explanation about these messages???
Do a conversational boot on the new system
then at sysboot prompt
SYSBOOT> show vaxcluster ! write down what is under current column
SYSBOOT> set vaxcluster 0
sysboot> continue
At $
$ set volume/label=whatever sys$sysdevice
$ mc sysgen
sysgen> set vaxcluster "whatever it was before"
sysgen> write current
sysgen> exit
$ @sys$system:shutdown !shutdown and reboot

Are you booting this 4000/300 into a cluster? Does the volume label of
the system disk on the booting node match a disk which is already in the
cluster? Have you switched disks while other cluster members still have
the older disk mounted with the same label?

Or, is the disk still shown as mounted on one of the other cluster members?
