Here's a piece of historic internal email! I can't state it better than
David Cutler, himself, and I know you'd all like the original email for
your scrapbooks! Tomorrow you'll see more detail in the press releases.

Additionally, we've simultaneously released Windows NT Advanced Server,
though it was only promised within 60 days of this date. SQL Server,
SNA Server, VC++ for Windows NT are now all on their countdown-clocks,
and I hope a raft of 3rd party products under development over the
last 2 1/2 years can be tested finally and released.

Those of you who have had the early Win32 SDK or DDK will receive your
updates as soon as the CD-Roms can be pressed, packed and mailed - hopefully
some arriving just over a week away. U.S. stores should see copies in
about 3 weeks.

There are many other details I don't know, but I wanted to get this
to you all first hand - as always, programming follow-up to
.programmer.win32, setup to .nt.setup, general to .nt.misc,
and today "sympathies" to other the other .advocacy groups!

Subject: NT Release
Date: Monday, July 26, 1993 2:50PM

PSS has signed off and NT is offically released to manufacturing!

Let me state that again - NT is RELEASED!!!!!

This has been a long hard effort. You all have done a great job. NT
is really something to be proud of.

Thank you all for your contribution, especially in the final three
months where we managed to fix upwards of 200 bugs per day without
serious regessions. It took an unparalled effort on everyone's part
to accomplish this.

We met or exceeded all ship criteria!
