Hi All,

If you don't want to install something from the Google Play store,
but do want the .apk file, is there a way to get Google Play to
cough up the .apk file?

Many thanks,

See <https://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/> - but read the FAQ first.

Evozi's APK Downloader, website that downloads app APKs from their
Google Play store URLs

Hi M.L.,

This Evozi sideloading stuff seems to be nice, if it works, because there
are three apps Google keeps breaking, which keep having to fix
themselves...
* Aurora Store (Evozi can likely work around when Google breaks this)
* NewPipe (the developer seems to easily work around when Google breaks it)
* GPStoAndroid (the developer is slower at fixing when Google breaks it)

All three of those apps allow anonymous scraping of the Google database
* Google Play database <-> Aurora
* YouTube database <-> Newpipe
* Google Maps database <-> GPStoAndroid

If this Evozi stuff works, that is a workaround for when Google
periodically breaks Aurora.

Does anyone have data on which of these is most legit & reliable?

etc.

Google tries their hardest to break these things, because, I guess, Google
wants to be like Apple where the user is bricked in with no escape
possible.

Since the Aurora app store sometimes fails, I tried this evozi downloader,
which works, for the most part, but on some apps, it crapped out.

This worked for example:
<https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.androgames.level&hl=en_US>

But this failed:
<https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=your.pocketlaserlevelpackage.namespace&hl=en_US>
Giving the error:
"Ops, we are not able to download. (invalid package/non-free/not compatible)"

*Notice in the FAQ Google limits them to about 1K downloads per day...*

How does this Online APK Downloader work?
It works behind the scene 24/7 to fetch your apps that you want to download

Is the file that I downloaded same as in Google Play?
Yes, Please do a MD5 file or developer certificate check if you have doubts

Can I download paid apps?
To prevent piracy, you are not allowed to download paid apps

How many new APKs can Evozi generate per day?
Currently we are able to generate around 1000+- apk files per day.
Our account quota will normally run out quickly

Can I download my apps using HTTPS?
Yes, all request will be made in secure connection (https)

Why choose us?
Evozi fetch your apk file directly without 3rd party sources or manual user
upload. (Secure & Easy)

I want to know more!
We will use T-Mobile (USA) to download the apk files for you.
APK files will be cached on our server for up to 30 days.
If you found the APK is an old version, please let us know

Besides the methods already provided, there's another way that "coughs up"
the APK from Google Play, but where you have to install the app from Google
Play first (and then you can immediately uninstall the app).
o Set up any free app backup to save the APKs upon installation
o Download & install the app from Google Play
o Immediately (if desired) delete the app from the device

The app APK will always be in your backup directory on your memory card.
o You can re-used that APK on almost any phone in the future

The freeware APK backup I use is this one, but others exist:
o App Backup & Restore - Easiest backup tool, by VPN Master Labs
<https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.usage.appbackup&hl=en>

When you install it, just set it up to
o Back up all APKs upon initial installation on the device
o Back up every APK version (so you can roll back versions if desired)

apkmirror.com provides APKs that are directly from the Google Play
Store. All their uploads are verified prior to publishing.

Given I don't have a Google Account on my phone, and given that Auroroa
works, but it's flaky at times, it would be nice if we can figure out the
two or three most reliable...
