May.25.2017 -- A plea for help

This world is run by evil madmen being guided by an insane evil spirit
named Satan. The purpose of all of Satan's actions are to do the
opposite of that which God established, and to teach contrary things
to that which God established.

I would like to request help in changing that.

The Lord Jesus Christ came to this Earth to restore that which was
lost because of sin. He did that at the cross, having fulfilled all
He was tasked to do completely, and faithfully, even though it was a
most bitter cup He was forced to drink from.

We now in this world have a choice. We can continue on in the way and
ways of the world, or we can recognize them for what they are (evil),
and choose to go another way.

I am asking each of you to consider the direction you want this world
to go in, and make a conscious choice to put your talents and skills
where your mouth is, and step up in this world and serve the Lord Jesus
Christ directly with your life's focus. Together, we can achieve that
which none of us can achieve on our own.

I offer my talents and skills and knowledge and resources unto the
Lord, and I'm asking you to join with me in moving forward with projects
that seek to honor Him in this world. Consciously. Purposefully. By
a concerted, focused effort desiring to turn our backs on the evil ways
of this world, and embrace the holy, right, and true ways taught by the
Lord Jesus Christ.

Everything He has taught us and done for us is right, pure, holy, and
that very and exact thing we all need in our lives. I choose to embrace
fully His presence in my life, and to bring Him out front ahead of the
things I do, so that I am not doing them for myself, for money, for some
kind of fame or glory, but I am instead doing it because I recognize He
first made me, and gave me my skills, and gave me every opportunity I've
had to move in this world. And I want to give back to Him that which He
first gave me, as an offering of my free will because of who He is.

I invite each of you to step up and come and join this project I am
working on. It has been a monumental undertaking, and I have been
diminished in my ability to continue working on it over time. I am not
sure the cause of that diminishment, but I know that together we can
achieve that which He first placed upon my heart:

A full hardware and software stack, with our own protocols and
specifications that are unencumbered by existing patents and IP
constraints:

(1) CPU
(2) Mainboard components
(3) Memory
(4) Networking, video, sound
(5) Operating system
(6) Drivers
(7) Tools (editors, compilers, debuggers, script engines)
(8) Applications
(9) Physical manufacturing of all of these things

We have the skills. We have the talent. We can tear down and rebuild
that which the enemy constructed on false foundations. We can make
ours fully secure upon eternal foundations.

I am asking you to come forth with your life's offering and serve the
Lord. I'm asking you to come to His Son and ask forgiveness of your
sin and then begin your life anew in service to Him.

The enemy won't like this, and he will come and attack from all sides.
But God is far greater, and if you stay the course, God Himself will
ensure your success ... because of who He is, and because of who you
are in Him.

And I have other ideas and projects mapped out, including a non-linear
on-the-fly video / audio editor called Whitebox, the purpose of which
is to apply user edits to raw content decoded from a DVD, so you pop
in a DVD which is an R-rated movie due to profanity and/or violence,
but one which otherwise has a good message and good scenes, and by
applying on-the-fly edits, you wind up with a G-rated version suitable
for the family. And I have ideas for how to create a Blender-like
app, a GIMP-like app, as well as a full office suite, etc.

Have you checked your health recently? If you are unable to work as much
as you used to, there is likely a physical reason for that. The sooner
you discover it, the better off you would be. What you said sounds like
a data point you should discuss with a doctor, rather than in an USENET
newsgroup.

Of course. I've been to a doctor and had tests run. They found my
cholesterol and blood pressure were high. I've been on medication,
have changed my eating habits and increased my exercise. Those
levels are returning to normal.

For some background, I began this project on July 7, 2012, and I
worked on it exclusively through the end of 2014. This was on top
of my regular 8-5 day job, which has an hour commute each way on
top of it. I was literally working 12-14 hours per day for over
two years, using up all of my vacation and holiday time as well.

In early 2015 I had something happen to me which sent me to the
doctor's for a battery of tests. They thought I had a heart
attack based on my symptoms, but there was no evidence of that,
and for all tests and bloodwork everything was normal, but I
couldn't even go to church and stand in the pews for a couple
weeks. I just laid in bed. Some people have told me I worked
myself to the point of exhaustion, which I've heard about before,
but I don't know.

It took me the rest of 2015 to recover to a low-normal state, and
since then I've been on a steady increase. But when I began this
project I was 42 years old. I'm now 47 and will be 48 later this
year. It's honestly getting more difficult for me to think as
deeply as I used to for as long as I used to. I've had to cut
my work back on the project by about 50%. It's why things have
progressed far more slowly these last couple years than in prior
years. I just can't work like I used to.

Don't worry, a bit of existential scare can be good thing- it forces one to reconsider one's living and above all, eating habits.

You might want to check Pen Jillete's extraordinary experience with his "whole food" diet. Guy lost a 100 lb in a few months without special effort.

WRT to that MEgaProject, I took a look or three and simply can't see the point.

All this has already been done. You have Open CPU. Not one, but many. One of them is called OpenRISC and it even has support within open sauce tools (gcc, binutils etc).

YOu already have open-source OS. GNU/Linux for one, various BSDs etc etc.
Same for hardware.

I think your heart is in the right place, but you are too hasty with your projects.

One thing that caught my eye is for example DAC that drives RGB monitor.

This thing is done in a weird and inefficient way. 16 resistors ferfucksake.

And even if it was redone it is still oooooooooold. Who uses analog VGA anymore ?

BUt you are right in that there is no LibreOffice for electronics - some nice, efficient tool that one could use for electronic design.

I use gEDA/PCB ant there is KiCAD, but gEDA is so clunky and KiCAD makes me puke.

I am beginning at the foundations of these offerings as something
given over to Jesus Christ. Purposefully, not built atop other
efforts which were given over for self-reasons (if if those "self-
reasons" were the gifts of their talents and knowledge, it has a
different meaning when it's explicitly given over to the Lord, and
asking Him to bless it ... kind of in the same way if an accident
happened and someone was stabbed to death with a kitchen utensil,
and that is a different act than a deliberate murder ... it's the
impetus within, the reason why it's done that makes it different).

My history is not cocktail joke, or something to be summarily
dismissed as the musing of a madman, or someone who got scared in
a health situation and then turned to the Lord.

This has been a long-term purposeful walk for me, and I am doing
so because of how the Lord saved and changed me back in 2004, even
when I was not looking for it. I was literally fundamentally re-
wired to understand things differently than I had before, and that
is from the born again spirit nature. And of the saints I encounter
who are born again, their experiences are likewise. The entire path
and course of their lives have been altered by the change. It is
literally a rebirth, old things pass away, and the new life has come
to take its place.

I am reaching out in sincerity asking for help on these projects.
I am reaching out in sincerity asking people to ask Jesus Christ
to forgive their sin so they too can be saved, born again, and
begin the process of serving Him in this world so as to store up
treasures in Heaven, rather than simply acquiring things which

We are more than our flesh, and Jesus restores that which was lost
so we can live in the born gain spirit nature, and then move for
Him and His Kingdom in this world.

With what shall I impress the Lord? He made my arm, so if I was able
to pick up 10,000 lbs with my strength in arm, how would that impress
Him? If I were to have a high IQ and solve problems other people

request of His creation. And I am doing so because of who He is.

I do also wish to solve concrete problems. I want to remove barriers
of patents and intellectual property rights. I want everything that
we, as a collective group, develop and create, to be offered unto
mankind, so that the inspired individual in some far off country who
examines are work and sees a better way to build it, is free to make
his/her offer because he/she had the opportunity to see the full
source code and specs, and without hindrance or burden of fee-based
access.

I personally would also like to move toward photonic computing.
I believe there is a future there which will go well beyond our
current semiconductor-based process technologies. I believe that
the work Intel has done on "rainbow lasers" of varying frequencies,
when applied to a 3D lattice structure, could yield parallel
processing without clocking. And much more.

I have literally had people half-jump at the opportunity to work
on this project ... until they see the cross on the door. Then,
they run away at full speed.

I've also had people tell me point blank, "Rick, if you agree to
work on your project for profit, I'll join you."

I am in pursuit of this offering to the Lord, so that I have on
this world a fulfillment of the Lord's prayer, which is in part:

"Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven."

In Heaven, everything is done in the station and recognition that
the Lord made all and is over all. It is not an oppressive type
of dictatorship, but is fully open and allows infinite expansion
and growth for all involved. It's why things must be done within
the boundaries of His Creation, and not as other beings think on
their own it should be accomplished.

He is the Potter, we are the clay. And when we move, it must be
within the constraints He gives us, because those constraints are
there for a reason, and they are for our benefit and prosperity
in life, living, and in loving one another rightly.

Yes, thanks for the link. Perhaps it's some psychology stuff, but to
read a technical text very often I need it printed on paper. It's just
not that easy to get distracted with a paper book! For the same reason,
the best places to study for me are trains and railway stations --
because the options for entertainment are fairly limited there. The more
I travel, the more I learn! :)

Of course, I could print and bind the book myself (actually have a
couple self-made books). But another psychology trick is that if you've
paid for a book you have greater motivation to read it. Like, "I
couldn't be such a fool that I've spent a considerable amount of money
for a book I'm never going to read". It's funny, but that works.

Thanks! I'd need a closer look into it before I decide. As a textbook it
covers a lot of stuff that's treated in most every text, but I'd need to
see if there is any unique information which doesn't appear anywhere else...

Then do that. But, until other people engage in that same philosophy,
we must honor the requests of other people when they make decisions for
themselves, such as releasing something under copyright. We honor their

When you resist the things that have been put in place, except literally

world, so when you are imposing your personal viewpoint upon others,
violating their decisions toward a particular end, you are literally
doing so to your own damnation.

God will give you provision in this world to pay people for the things
that are required for you. It is given to all who acknowledge that He
really is in charge, and walk according to His will. And where it is
not given, for the one who is a born again Christian, it is as Paul
wrote (about learning to be comfortable no matter what station of life
we find ourselves in, in having plenty, or in having need).

We are to honor the systems that are in place, including the copyright
and patent systems. They were put here for a reason, and they were
literally ordained by God, and we are subject to them.

This is why I'm starting back over from the roots on the hardware and
software project. To build from the ground up a completely IP-free
offering, giving over to God and unto men free of entanglements, the
purpose of which is to use the talents and skills He first gave me
for the betterment of those people in the world. And I am asking for
others to come alongside me and offer up from themselves likewise,
unto the Lord, and unto other people in the world.

By building atop Him and His teachings, then everything that we create
in hardware and software is of that world you'd like to be a part of.
We are free to share, and we get paid (although not in Earthly money,
but in a Heavenly reward that will not wear out with use -- remember
the loaves and fishes, the burning bush, the use of something, yet
without consuming the source, which is also similar to digital media,
where we can use it, share it, give copies to others, and still have
it).

There really is a method behind my operation, Evgeny. I have spent
a considerable amount of time reading and studying the Bible, and in
prayer regarding these endeavors. They are not whimsical thoughts
applied on a moment's notice. They have evolved over years, and are
honing in the true form that will emerge. But I am only one person
at work in this project. I have not been given all of the skills or
abilities to do all of it, and as I have said as I am getting older
I am becoming diminished in my ability to do the deep thinking and
hard work I did in my youth.

God is making it very clear to me that I am to be part of something,
alongside other brothers and sisters of Christ all walking in the
same direction together. No one is out in front, but all of us are
working together for the common goal.

It's why I'm asking others to come on board and offer their own
talents in this way, unto the Lord, and unto mankind, so as to build
atop the foundation of Christ, and be the voices in this world,
moving in the direction of these changes we seek (not for the benefits
of a few, not for hoarding behind forced recompense, but rather as a
gift of love given over to everyone, so that they may benefit from our
abilities, adding theirs on top of our offerings, creating more than
we could ever do on our own).
