Prison Break Season 5: Arriving Sooner; To Topple This is Us’s Success?
Prison Break Season 5 news – The upcoming reunion of Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), and Dr. Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies) still does not have a confirmed release date from Fox. However, it seems there is a possibility that it might get a go signal to air it earlier than planned.
Prison Break is the most anticipated upcoming show
Supporters of this action drama series cannot stop talking about its plot or the show’s characters. In a research conducted by Listen First Media (as per a Christian Today report), Prison Break Season 5 has sparked over 19.5 million engagements on social media from May to August. It was reported to be “the most anticipated upcoming show to date.”
Despite its high ratings, Fox cannot assume that these numbers will translate to ratings when the series do premiere. The same source notes that shows, like The Muppets, Limitless, and Heroes Reborn were cancelled because of low ratings.
Meanwhile, running on the second spot for the most number of social media engagement is Dan Fogelman’s This is Us, with 1.56 million engagements. The show premiered on Sept. 20 and it seems to have had good ratings. Deadline reported that the dramedy which starred Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Sterling Brown, Chrissy Metz and Justin Hartley, opened with a 2.8 in the adult 18-49 bracket. It has also garnered 10 million views at the 10 P.M. slot.
The publication notes that This is Us was “NBC’s most-watched scripted program in the hour, since Law & Order: SVU.”

Meanwhile, Fox’s series returns have dismal ratings as the shows “barely cracked the 1 demo rating.” Scream Queens Season 2 with 1.o in the 18-49 category, Brooklyn Nine-Nine with 1.1 and New Girl with 1.2 rating.
Because of this, speculations have been made that Fox may just release Prison Break Season 5 early to bring up the television ratings for the network. Fox have yet to issue any statement regarding this claim.
