All,

Christian, who is way above my pay grade on bird ID, says the goose at Stearns Lake is a hybrid.

Consensus is a Ross’s x Cackling. Very cool looking goose, and perhaps a blue morph Ross’s was a parent.

For anyone interested in a second look at this interesting goose, here is another photo that shows the extended neck, pink legs and a bit more detail of the back end. There's been quite a bit of discussion about it's potential parentage, with Dark Morph Ross's x Cackling being perhaps the most interesting.
