When I visited Neegronda Reservoir between 3:00 and 5:00 PM today, an AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER was on the southeast shore. Access to that part of the lake is fairly straightforward; from Hwy 287, take the signed turnoff to Neegronda toward the west. I believe golden-plover sightings in Colorado are less common in spring than in fall. Other highlights today included:
Snowy Plover (5)
Long-Billed Curlew (3)
Marbled Godwit (24)
Semipalmated Sandpiper (1)
Baird's Sandpiper (5)
Greater Yellowlegs (1)
Upland Sandpiper (1)
American Avocet (8)
Wilson's Phalarope (about a dozen)
