Hello all,

We have just released CmisSync 1.1.14!
https://bitbucket.org/Nicolas_Raoul/cmissync/downloads

Changes
- More reliable
- Shows error notifications but not too many
- Ignore filenames that are not valid on local filesystem

Your feedback is very welcome :-)

Right now we are busy implementing ChangeLog, which will be a huge performance enhancement!

Your help is needed to translate CmisSync into many languages:
http://crowdin.net/project/cmissync

Cheers!

Hello!
Thank you for Great App.
I have just connected to IBM FileNet Content Engine 5.2.
Had some problems during FileNet configuration: I had to disable connection check and automatic deployment at IBM CMIS for FileNet configuration. Than I deployed application manually. Connection string was https://<Server>:9443/fncmis/resources/Service
Best regards

Hello Alexander,

Thanks for your feedback!

I just created this wiki page to help other FileNet Content Engine users:
https://github.com/nicolas-raoul/CmisSync/wiki/Using-CmisSync-with-IBM-FileNet-Content-Engine

Does it convey the information correctly?
Any error?
Anything you would like to add?

Thanks a lot!

Hello Nicolas!

That's correct.
Just I had one problem with large files. I can upload 600 MB video file with WebDAV, but I cannot do that with CmisSync.

Hello Alexander,

Sorry to hear about the 600MB problem!
Could you please register a new issue below about this?
https://github.com/nicolas-raoul/CmisSync/issues

Please attach the log file (at least the end of it, where it shows the 600MB file. CmisSync's log file can usually be found at C:\Users\nico\AppData\Roaming\cmissync\debug_log.txt (replace nico with your user name. Note: Configure Windows to show hidden files, otherwise you might not see AppData).

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

Hi Nicolas,

congrats for all the improvements!
If I keep a Word document opened, I noticed the version history in alfresco gets updated after every sync (see screenshot)... I believe there should be only 1 version update when I close the document and that it should be marked as checked out in alfresco as long as I keep it open in Word.
What do you think?
Thanks and regards

Hello Romuald,

CmisSync syncs the file every time it is saved to the disk.

The creation or not of new version is actually up to the configuration of your server, so you might want to use it to reduce the number of versions created. While not exactly the same, you might find this documentation useful: https://github.com/nicolas-raoul/CmisSync/wiki/Making-each-change-a-new-version

CmisSync could try to detect when Word is still open, and only sync when closed, but:
- On the opposite, some people probably want documents to be synced at each save.
- It would be quite complex and probably not reliable

What do you all think?
Romuald, please let us know if you find any solution or have any other idea, thanks for your feedback!

Hi Nicolas,

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I confirm our alfresco is configured with auto versioning as explained in your doc. In our case however, I fear we don't expect the version history to get filled in every minute due to the auto-save feature of Microsoft Word... which I believe does not alter the last modification time of an opened document.

With regards

Romuald
