Prospective member - Finding a Member Mentor

Hello!

I just recently moved to Chattanooga and am incredibly interested in joining ChattLab. I have quite a bit of experience with woodworking, laser cutters, basic graphic design, and a little experience running CNCs. I have mainly been making carved electric guitars and acoustic drum sets.

I'm incredibly excited to get started. I tried to complete the application, but ran into a snag with the member mentors. I have been looking around and can't seem to find any mentors listed on the websites. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Also, what are the standard hours in the space?

Good to hear of your interest and cool projects you have.

The mentor trap? Ah yes, you've sprung it. All you need to do is come by on a Thursday night after 7pm. We usually have the most members in house on that night of the week. This is just a requirement that you get to know us a bit and vice versa.

If you can't stand it, I'm at the space very often. Some say I practically live there but they would be wrong. That is Hoyt.

Standard hours? Bah. 24/7/365 RFID access.

Hi Tim!

Thanks for following up with me! I will definitely try to get down there on a Thursday. Unfortunately, I work in the evenings, so I would have to come by sometime before noon. I work in the Studio at the UTC Library, so I am definitely familiar with the idea of a makerspace!

I will definitely stop by in the next couple days!
