Greetings, Local Makers,

I've just gotten the word that MakerBot is sending two boxes (8-10
spools) of 3mm ABS filament for us to use for the upcoming Pittsburgh
and Columbus Mini Maker Faires! No idea on colors yet, but we'll
certainly have plenty to work with.

The Call to Makers is over for both events, but I have a table for
this group at the Pittsburgh Mini Maker Faire, 22 September, and three
of us have tables for the Columbus Mini Maker Faire, 29 September. If
you want to attend either or both events, there's plenty of chances to
talk to the public about 3D printing and show off your best pieces.

Ethan,

I still haven't made a Columbus visit.

You have a table at Pittsburgh?

You listed as RepRap?

You and I are next to each other. I am listed as InMoov.

To display:  I have a pile. There were two T-OMs but, an HBP quit (short?), a hot end died (resistors?), an x-carriage broke, and a son shorted an EC board.
:-) I may get one T-O-M functioning.

I then had a B9 Creator coming but, they had design changes, vendor problems, production difficulties and are delayed a month. It may or may not get here. But, to build? 20 hours? .....

I also am making a Right and Left Hand of hairygael's Thingiverse InMoov 3D printed robotic hands. But, I was slowed up trying to get a neat controller which wasted 2.5 months, a DOA, struggles to replace and shipping. So, no connection, no motion and it is now a static display.

I have a MakerBot Clock. I took to a professed 40 years experienced clock maker/repairman he said, "I can't make it work." I wasted three weeks here. But, it is another static display.

Next, I am finalizing Johann's Thingiverse Rostock 3D Printer. There is still hope here to be printing by Saturday.

I've been waiting two months on an in the works wireless power display using nixie tubes as chess pieces. But, with design changes, parts availability and well... Its on a boat from the UK and requires 30+ hours to build. Groan.....

I had yet another very cool animatronic hand display to be available BUT, LOL, with design revisions, manufacturing delays, new materials, parts, and more prototyping it will not be available. Due date ????

With all the above 'buts' I sound like a motor boat......
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.......   :'/

Tell me you travel plans. I can save you some $ if you want to stay 35 minutes south of the city at my place.

Regards, Brian Stott....
