Anita Sarkeesian's launch of a Kickstarter titled "Tropes vs. Women in Video Games" has inflamed an ugly misogynistic corner of the Internet that is infuriated by its success. In turn, the Kickstarter blew past its $6,000 goal to achieve nearly $160,000.
The success of the Kickstarter has continued to infuriate critics, culminating in the latest volley by "Ben Spurr" AKA Benjamin Daniel: a hateful game (since removed) in which the player punches Sarkeesian's virtual portrait, becoming increasingly bruised and bloody until the screen is drenched in red.
