Hi guys.  Can you alleviate my frustration?   I have enabled NAS on my B2 (it says "Done") however, I cannot find the B2 on my PC.  They are both on the same network.  Any ideas?

Hi
If you search NAS you will see some earlier posts from me which seems to work.

All I did was go to file explorer; map network drive; choose the drive letter you want; select reconnect at logon; drive path would be \\youripaddress\music; enter the username and password when prompted and select save credentials - you then have a permanent connection.
I used the IP address as sometimes the PC does not resolve the device name.
Hope that helps

Hi Jon
The IP address is the one showing on your B2.
Make sure you use the double backslash when you input it EG \\192.168.1.160\music is my connect string - yours should be similar format, but numbers will vary.

Glad to help - seems not necessary in your case, but sometimes it might be required to open a port through the firewall

Hi Jon and Spike. Saw Jon's post and have had the same problem, but hadn't followed it up. Followed Spikes instructions and now have the Brennan music drive available on my network. Didn't know about the mapping network drive part. Have now successfully transferred an album from my laptop to the B2 using NAS. Just dragged the Artist named folder (Brad Paisley) containing the Album folder (American Saturday Night) from the laptop music directory to the Brennan music drive and watched the files copy accross. Could see the album in the Brennan drive, so checked to see if I could see it in the Web UI. Was not there. Ran a quick Scan Disk and checked the UI again. It was there along with it's associated art work. Success.
Many thanks to Jon for bringing up the query I was too lazy to do, and to Spike for the solution. Happy Easter guys.
Regards Leslie.

NB. When I ran Scan Disk from the Web UI settings the B2 got hung up. Had to off/on to reset. When run from the front of the B2, no problems. (Martin?)

Hi both
I found mapping the drive to be a simple and more stable way of accessing the B2 from my PC. It does on rare occasion not reconnect on PC boot up, but restarting the B2 solves it. I put that down to the vagaries of wifi.
And yes, copying from PC to the B2 will require a scan disk to sync the library., although I have not encountered any issue running from the UI.
Regards, Spike

Morning all - I realise this is an old post, but hopefully someone will pick it up.  I had previously had no problem with NAS until I moved house and setup a new network with a new provider.  As part of the move I also expanded my Sonos system as I had previously been using the B2 as a music source for the Sonos, which (eventually) worked fine.  However, until I typed in the IP address as Spike suggested above, it would not work, so thank you.  What was particularly annoying was that the Connect Amp which I bought to connect my own speakers with the Sonos system also has a line in to connect the B2 which would mean I could connect the two systems that way, but keeps cutting out and stuttering during playback, so getting it linked back this way is great.

I am now able to re-discover the joys of the tagging issue in the Sonos player which should be fun.

Hi Toby
Has your IP address changed now that you are on a new network perhaps?

Hi Toby,

Is the Sonos + B2 stuttering over the network or via the Line Out - Line In connection?

If over the network, have you checked the WiFi signal level?
