DESCRIPTION
Mad*Pow is a dynamic and rapidly growing interactive design agency and we are seeking an Experience Researcher to be a part of our UX Research team. UX research is a core facet of Mad*Pow’s work for clients you’d recognize: Aetna, Cigna, ESPN, Harvard Business, Hyundai, the American Medical Association, as well as some up-and-coming companies you’ll be hearing about in the future. We need committed, energized, UX research-trained candidates who not only know how to choose the appropriate UX research method for the project at hand, but also can prepare for, moderate, and otherwise conduct research projects from end-to-end.

As a Mad*Pow Experience Researcher, your primary task will be to work with all members of the Mad*Pow team to deliver actionable insights based on primary UX research. We will also look to you to be a trusted research advisor to our clients. Our research team uses various methodologies on behalf of our clients to explore how users interact with current and proposed products. Typical responsibilities include helping to plan and conduct structured quantitative and qualitative usability research activities to elicit authentic user experiences, compiling research finding reports, and interacting with clients throughout the execution of projects.

AS A MAD*POW EXPERIENCE RESEARCHER YOU WILL:
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of lab-based, field-based, or remote usability studies
  • Conduct heuristic evaluations & user interviews
  • Facilitate and manage focus groups and ethnographic research activities
  • Execute contextual inquiries, surveys, task analysis, and stakeholder/user interviews

EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED:
  • 1–2 years minimum prior UX research experience or degree in HCI, human factors, statistics, anthropology, sociology, cognitive psychology, or similar
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously is essential
  • Excellent client management and interaction skills
  • Possess strong user-observation skills, ability to understand and apply user-centered design best practices and techniques
  • Portfolio, case studies, or examples of conducted research with resulting conclusions and recommendations
  • Attention to detail, ability to communicate well on paper and verbally to a variety of stakeholders
  • Team oriented, energetic, innovative, and self-motivated
  • Familiarity or experience with remote usability, indirect usability, and mobile testing a bonus
  • Experience with eye-tracking research is a plus

OTHER DEETS
This is a paid full time position offering a fun and exciting working environment in a rapidly growing company. For this position, we will only look at candidates who can commute to Boston, MA.
