We are looking for a talented UX Designer to create amazing user experiences for our leading education websites:  FamilyEducation, TeacherVision, Infoplease and FactMonster.  The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean and artful design, possess superior UI skills and be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts, and transform them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional user interfaces.
 
Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience
  
• Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
  
• Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  
• Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
  
• Participate in design reviews with the UX team and other stakeholders; be able to present and articulate your work and give and receive feedback
  
• Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
  
• Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback
  
• Help us define our UX team and culture; bring new methodologies, perspectives, tools and best practices to change the way we work for the better
  
• Establish and promote
  

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of experience in designing great user experiences for consumer web and mobile products/services.
  
• Has a passion in understanding the users and being their advocate.
  
• Ability to communicate design decisions effectively and be open to different perspectives and feedback.
  
• 'Gets' the business side of design.
  
• Strong portfolio demonstrating work in interaction design, user experience and visual design.
  
• Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
  
• Proficiency in Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision, Gliffy or other visual design, wire-framing and prototyping tools.  Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping.
  
• Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
  
• Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders.
  
• Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
  
• Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
  
• BS/MS in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or related
  
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  
• Proficient in English
  

Beneficial to have experience working a large consumer content-driven website
