nuTonomy aims to be the first company in the world to launch an autonomous taxi system, and we are building up an awesome team to make this goal a reality.  nuTonomy is developing the first-of-its-kind complete solution for providing point-to-point mobility via large fleets of autonomous vehicles. This includes software for autonomous vehicle navigation in urban environments, smartphone-based ride hailing, fleet routing and management, and controlling a vehicle remotely through teleoperation.

We are seeking a highly talented user experience & interaction designer to help us deliver a user experience that is intuitive, comfortable, and that will develop trust for this state-of-the-art technology. We are seeking candidates with experience in hardware, software, quantitative design, and customer research.

The successful candidate may work on a variety of tasks:

• Think through the entire user experience from booking a vehicle all the way to exiting the vehicle at the end of the journey
• Analyze and develop hardware needs for interior and exterior of vehicle
• Analyze software needs throughout the entire user experience and work with the relevant parties to develop it

Experience

• Substantial design experience with state-of-the-art technology
• A deep portfolio of projects that have been implemented
• Fluency in best practices for UI and UX design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques

Core Skills may include:

• Strong background in design principles
• Rapid prototyping of hardware
• Good software development skills (e.g., C++, JavaScript, Python, HTML)
• Experience developing software as part of a team
• Desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment
