Senior UX Designer, Product Design

We’re seeking a Senior UX/Product Designer to help imagine, prototype, build, and refine the experiences that define our industry leading social media analytics software. As a member of our UX Team, you’ll work with Product and Engineering teams to bring elegance and ease-of-use to the product experience.

This position draws from a broad range of UX skills including information architecture, interaction and visual design, usability, and rapid prototyping to create compelling user experiences.  Your work will touch hundreds of household brands that rely on our product.  
This is an opportunity to play a variety of UX roles and have a major influence on the design of an industry leading social insights analytics SaaS product.

You are a creative problem-solver who loves to collaborate and iterate via rapid prototyping with experience working across interaction, UI, data visualization, behavioral design, and research. You think like an Architect and can apply critical and creative thinking to make products easy and delightful to use.
  • You aspire to create “don’t make me think” interaction models and have a passion for telling stories through creative data visualization. You have the ability to juggle competing priorities and enjoy mentoring other designers.           
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design delightful product experiences in collaboration with Engineering, Product, and Research teams, working on multiple products or features concurrently.
  • Identify and articulate user behaviors and needs, iteratively create rapid prototypes and validate using lean user research techniques.
  • Employ data visualization techniques to help users explore and understand complex data sets.
  • Collaborate with other UX’ers to maintain design consistency and coherence across Crimson product suite.
  • Own and represent the voice of the user throughout the design process.
  • Use a variety of methods to communicate design decisions including sketches, personas, information architecture maps, process and interaction flows, user task analysis, wireframes, storyboards, visual design mockups, and low to high fidelity prototypes.
  • Help conduct various forms of user research to inform your designs, including usability testing, A/B testing, customer interviews, and surveys.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Degree in a Design, human factors, UX or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 7+ years of hands-on experience as an Information Architect, Interaction Designer, or User Experience Designer in a software, product organization, designing for mobile,       desktop, web or native.
  • Possesses excellent strategic, analytical, and conceptual thinking skills. A problem-solver at heart.
  • Is resourceful, relentless, with a thirst for uncovering the unknown.
  • Ability to prioritize, execute, and communicate effort and expectations across multiple projects.
  • Able to iterate quickly with requirements that may be minimal or not well-defined, and to pitch back ideas at the conceptual design level.
  • Has expert experience with design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite and rapid prototyping tools such as Proto.IO, Invision, Axure, Principle or similar.
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present and sell design ideas to peers and stakeholders clearly and convincingly
  • Able to share online portfolio demonstrating advanced design skills, creativity, data visualization, and a mix of low-fidelity and high-fidelity UX and visual design deliverables.
                                    
Preferred:
  • Experience with data visualization authoring tools such as D3, Tableau, HighCharts, or similar.
  • Visual design skills where you’ve led projects as a Visual Designer.
  • Front-end coding knowledge.
