About the Job
We are looking for a Senior Product UX Designer to help imagine, prototype, build and refine the next generation of Akamai's Enterprise products. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication.
This individual will excel at providing both highly analytical as well as highly creative ideas to a design process. You will be an integral part of a highly skilled team of engineers responsible for the design and development of Akamai's next-generation Enterprise product line. - Create Visual Designs with an attention to detail
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Product Architects to transform product concepts & visions into design prototypes & specifications
- Work with customers to identify and articulate their needs
- Design usable workflows and layouts to ensure a cohesive, logical and intuitive experience
- Research Interactive Design and Technology trends
- Conduct Usability Tests and User Research to iterate better designs back into the system
Required Qualifications
- Education BA/BS degree in Interaction Design, New Media Design or related Design field
- 5+ years experience with the Software Development Lifecycle
- 5+ years' experience with UI design tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks and other associated design tools
- 5+ years' experience with front end scripting technologies like CSS, AngularJS, HTML editors and HTML5
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrable fluency with design tools such as; Sketch, Axure, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks
- Passion for identifying and solving real user problems
- Expertise in creating wireframes as well as visual design comps
- Comfort in a fast-paced, highly-dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders
- Must be self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload to have deliverables completed on schedule
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Our Luna Product Experience team creates engaging user interfaces for our customers utilizing user centered design methods. We have offices in Massachusetts and California and team members collaborate daily. You will work with our talented engineering team to build software that optimizes performance for hundreds of top consumer and business websites delivered over desktop and mobile platforms. We are driven, creative and curious.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
- 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or
- Relevant experience and a Master’s degree or
- Equivalent professional experience
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience working in UX/UI Design
- 1+ years of experience helping advance current UX/UI design best practices
- 1+ years of experience working with technologies such as Sketch, InVision Adobe Creative Suite, Axure and Balsamiq
Desired Skills
- Demonstrated portfolio of work
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; ability to organize and present information on screen and verbally with a team
- HTML, CSS, and browser capabilities across platforms
- Experience working with HTML and CSS
- Proficiency working with JavaScript
- Ability to work with stakeholders from different departments with different perspectives and considerations
- Ability to create simple, clear and elegant user experience for complex applications to increase communication efficiency and enhance user experience
