About the Position

Imarc is looking for an enthusiastic UX Engineer to design, prototype and develop UX improvements for an existing product. This is a full-time position open at our Amesbury, MA office.

The UX (User Experience) Engineer will play an integral role in the product's lifecycle - including usability audits,  prototyping new features, identifying and recommending areas for improvement in the experience as well as front-end implementation. This unique role requires knowledge of UX best practices and the ability to build enhancements in browser.

You'll be working with the  engineers, creatives, producer, and client. Your mission: help shepherd the project from start to finish, with the client's goals and  best practices always in mind.

What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • Experience with UX planning and strategy practices such as user interviews, sitemaps, wireframes, prototypes, and user testing. (We use Adobe XD for most UX deliverables)
  • Experience with front-end development and able to cut up design comps and produce semantic HTML markup and organized CSS/SASS.
  • Collaborate effectively with our Creative and Development teams.
  • Keep on top of best practices and web standards related to usability and user experience.
  • Edit client-supplied content; author microcopy and help-text
  • Ensure optimal performance
  • Perform QA, usability and user testing
  • Make recommendations and be a proactive voice for the user. You'll be working directly with client stakeholders and Imarc's creative and dev teams. We'll look to you to make recommendations on how to best push the client's product forward in an iterative way.
  • Bonus: Experience working with Drupal themes – you won't be responsible for leading this, but development for this product is in Drupal

What Imarc Offers:
  • Excellent opportunity to learn and grow as an engineer. Work on many challenging projects for a variety of unique brands with some of the most talented people in our industry.
  • Opportunity to play a key role in the complete lifecycle of a project.
  • Health and dental coverage
  • Life, Short-term and Long-term Disability
  • Simple IRA retirement plan with matching company contribution (it’s like a 401(k) for small businesses)
  • A fun, creative work environment in excellent surroundings and smart people. Check out our vibe.
  • Downtown Amesbury, far away from the soul-crushing city commute
  • Flexible position with a stable, 19-year old company

Check out our Handbook (handbook.imarc.com) for more on how you'd participate in the strategy and frontend development of a typical project.
