Hi everyone!

Ready for week 4? Let's hit it. This week's music focus will be based on throwback remakes! Listen up 90's babies: when you're at a party, and a song that was a hit from your childhood comes on, what's your usual reaction? TURN IT UP! Then comes the fist pumps, crazy dance moves, and uncontrollable sweat that you don't care about because you're reliving the good old days. Bollywood knows this, and it led to one of my favorite trends in the industry: remaking the classics.

Some say music producers lack creativity for starting and feeding this trend - I think it's the complete opposite. A.R. Rahman himself remade a song he produced decades ago - we all know that he is rarely doubted in the realm of creativity. In fact, I think it's challenging and a huge risk to take something already so good and try to make it better.
(Key Word: Try...doesn't always pan out. *Cough* Rap portions *Cough*)

Let's take a step back, deep breath, and appreciate the entertainment. Tension nahi lene ka!

Remake Feedback, Criticism Feedback
One of my favorite throwbacks was remade recently: Neend Churayi Meri = Maine Tujhko Dekha. Initial reactions from the majority:
"Ew, Ajay Devgan is so old, he is in the remake of a song he originally did like 20 years ago with Kajol (his wife)! And now he's doing it with a girl who's 'like' 20 years younger than him!"
Did anyone give this much attention to the fact that SRK has played love roles with Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra - all with a near 20 year age gap? Sure it was mentioned, but it's SRK, right? He's better looking and a better actor than Ajay Devgan, right?

Guuuyyysss, taake a chill pill! Enjoy the song, relive the good old days, and let Ajay Devgan and Parineeti Chopra do what they love: provide fun entertainment for us. After all, Ajay Devgan definitely looks a lot better in this song than he did in the original version...right? #PowerOfBeards
What mood does this satisfy? "I HAVEN'T HEARD THIS IN FOREVER! YAAS!"
Movie: Golmaal 4 (Releases October 20, 2017)
Other songs from the movie rating: 4/5
Now That I've Taken That Chill Pill Myself...
To slow it down, the below song is a throwback remake using a song from 90's babies' parents' generation. It's definitely a majority favorite, and while I wouldn't say it's better than the OG version, it's definitely soothing to the ear. Arijit Singh stays very true to the beauty of the original, not surprisingly. Play it around people who love Kishore Kumar - their reactions are priceless.
What mood does this satisfy? Cuddles and daydream time!
Movie: Wajah Tum Ho (Released in 2016)
Other songs from movie rating: 2.5/5

This Week's 7 Throwback Remakes
Nostalgia at it's finest.

Has a weird techno part in the middle - ignore that, and it's a good remake of this song!

I honestly like this version better than the original, maybe because of hyper beats?

Okay this may be one where each version has it's own charm, you know? Check out the original.

This Madhuri remake definitely lived up to the name - and that choreography, on point!

Okay, so maybe some remakes are like hundred percent better than the original...

Two classic actors, with two classic songs.

Ummmm, bollywood version over the OG version anyday! Crazy how they're both relatively new.

This Week's Favorite 7
Again, he crushes it with the unknown movies, but makes the song so worth the listen.

That's right...I just gave you the same song but female version - which do you like better?

Priyanka - she run the world.

Those of you that know me are probably surprised I haven't done this yet.

I hope your head naturally goes side to side when listening to it, mine surely does. :)

It was the "cool" song when it came out - played at every talent/holi/diwali show.

In case you've never seen this movie, SRK plays a stalker - this is actually supposed to be a really creepy song...Enjoy!
