I've been having a problem with a trigger I've set up to load my Gmail Inbox in Safari through a hot key via Quicksilver (built 1004 and 1006 respectively). I set this up by going to custom Triggers, and selecting Hotkey from the drop-down at the bottom of the Triggers page. I paste in the URL for my Inbox into the 'Select an item' box, and keep the default action, Open URL. Finally I set a modifier key to launch this (CMD-M in this case). I can now launch my Gmail inbox in Safari - and this works until I reboot, when it breaks, with the URL I set being replaced by, in the last instance at least, this: 'public.rtf:3FEA3EB0-BC83-4172-B8F2-43F68D212C10'. This problem as I've noticed occurs when I have rebooted, though I can't work out what causes it. I've been deleting my now broken trigger and recreating it again, but as you can imagine, it is quite frustrating doing this again and again without knowing what is fusing the breakdown. I don't know if this is something that is occurring because of something at the Gmail end, or a problem within quicksilver, but I'll be very grateful if someone can help out here. In case it's relevant, Im using the latest build of Mountain Lion (10.8.5, 12F45). As a final note, I have many other triggers set, a dozen of these used to open various websites, and with no problems - things go wrong only with this Gmail one.

I'd be grateful for any input here, and thanks in advance.

Try creating a safari bookmark for gmail and using the quicksilver safari plugin (which you're probably using already) to put that bookmark in the catalog (which it will probably automatically put itself in). You can refresh the catalog (⌘R in QS) to force this to happen quickly.

Then recreate your trigger using the gmail bookmark as found in the catalog.

I (still) have a similar problem as you (https://github.com/quicksilver/Quicksilver/issues/1553) with some web search triggers and now with some that use text from the shelf and the paste action. But I have the same gmail trigger as you setup as above and I never have a problem with that one.

When saving your trigger change the first pane to text mode then paste the URL. Check issue #1597 and report back if this works for you.

If I remember correctly this was a problem with a developer release of Quicksilver.
Can you make sure you have the latest version - download and install from http://qsapp.com/download.php

My application update type is Developer Preview, the current version I have installed is 1.1.2 (4006) via its internal update feature, so I guess I'm good, am I?
The problem described in #1597 still persists though. Can you reproduce it with the same build?

I think it’s still a problem. Did we change the identifier assigned to things in the clipboard history recently?
