We are using bbb 0.9 B. Browser is chrome and version is Version 41.0.2272.101 m. Browser hangs on audio test (screen shot attached). Some time it works fine and some times it goes into hanging. Sharing to see if anyone else is having this issue. This is happening with many users.

Hi Santosh,

Starting with Google Chrome version 41, Google Chrome now attempts to use IPv6 addresses when connecting to WebRTC audio.

We are currently investigating an IPV6-related issue where the user's audio connection with microphone (not listen only) in Chrome 41 will display "Connecting..." for a few minutes before falling back to Flash.

At the moment, IPv6 deployment is fairly rare, and most people do not yet have internet connections with IPv6 enabled. As a result, few people will see this issue.

Affected users can work around the problem by using Mozilla Firefox.  Opened an issue to track this

Do you have IPv6 enabled on your network?  Is the behaviour any different between FireFox or Chrome.

Regards,... Fred

Thanks Fred. We are not using IPV6 on our network as of now. I will explore further and let you know.

When the call hangs in Chrome open the browser console (F12) and look for the list of candidates. It should look something like this:

a=candidate:3850430033 1 udp 2122257663 2002:8ecc:855a::8ecc:855a 57684 typ host generation 0

The candidates that are alphanumeric are the IPv6 ones

Thanks Chad. Since we have windows client, we went ahead and disabled the IPV6 look up in our client network configuration. Since then chrome has been connecting to Audio. For now, it is working. If it stops, I will update the group.

Santosh

Hi Fred,

I get the similar result with IPV6 on @ http://demo.bigbluebutton.org/. Some time it connects and some time it waits on self test audio page same as with my bbb installation.
