Well, since I can't check on BGG right now, I thought I might get
lucky and find someone who has played this game. I have watched a
couple of reviews on it, and it seems like it would be right up our
family's alley...but wanted to get a few opinions on it from anyone
who has played this before.

Thanks in advance.

It's a really good game! There is a lot to do, but each actions are very simple. Pick cards, pick a skill, buy a card with treasure or battle house clans for for treasures! You have only 7 turns and 3 actions each turns, so 21 actions total. That means you'll never be able to do everything you want. SO, there is a lot of tactics/planning to do here! Everybody I played with loved this game!

I've played it a couple of times and I like it. It's worker placement
with some area majority and hand management thrown in...and it does it
pretty well. Strategy purists might be put off by the press your luck
"Banzai" mechanic, but we enjoyed it. Bottom line, it was fun for
us...and the Ninja theme was cool...

It's a decent, if not particularly special game.  I've only played it once, and would play it again, but see no reason to purchase it at all.

It was ok, but it just wasn't clicking with my group. I have a copy
for sale/trade if you decide to go for it. :)

I had a dislike for 1 of the bonus cards that can be available in the game, but other than that I found it a pretty great worker placement game.  It's not a typical theme, and the mechanics mesh well to the theme.  I thought was a solid Euro, and give it bonus points for style.

I must have misclicked somewhe as my reply got lost - well, here it is
again:
It's one of the best medium-light euros you can play. I prefer it to
Stone Age (similar complexity, but I feel like playing on autopilot
there) and Egizia, which would be tad heavier if not for those
annoying Sphinx cards. I take it out but rarely as I usually play with
gamers, not casual, so I can't comment on its longevity, but I have no
reason to think it's smaller than competition. For a non-party euro it
has a great fun factor and brings forth emotions not common in the
genre. As long as you're not looking for a gamers' game, I heartily
recommend it.

I own Ninjato and it is one of my favorites. I like the push your luck
mechanic and I like the worker placement. I love the theme. The
artwork is wonderful as well. I don't like that it is only four
players, but I have played with four, three, and two and it scales
very well. I do not feel like there is a sweet spot with this game
because each time worked really well. I would go for it and buy
Ninjato.

Ninjato is one of the coolest medium-light games you can play. I
prefer it to Stone Age and Egizia, games of similar complexity. I
don't play it regularily though (I prefer meatier games), so I can't
speculate on it's longevity, but I see no reason that it might be
shorter then competition.

Amazing, I just got back from playing this the first time after never
having heard of it.
I really liked it, and would give it a tentative 8. The rules are
quite light and the gameplay is smooth and simple. The different
elements fit together very neatly and keep you juggling the different
things you want to do, and to maximise the utility of each action.
The scoring has a really interesting twist in it that you need to
balance buying influence in the different clans with trying to
influence their relative importance. The theme is always present, even
though its probably not fundamental to the mechanics.

Personally I am a fan of the game. It is a unique worker placement
game with an interesting scoring scheme. AlsO u can't go wrong with
ninjas.

Awesome, thanks for all the great replies...I watched Drakkenstrike's
vid review on it, and got a real urge to pick it up.

I also own Ninjato, and rated it an "8".  I really like it, but then, I am not so concerned with the luck/randomness element in it.  I have to concede, however, that control freaks definitely will not like it, as it has these elements, but if you don't have the constant need to control the fate of nations (or your little corner of it), I think you should definitely give this game a go.
