Ascension ios question

How do you know which player went first (and therefore which player
will go last when the victory points run out)? It can make a
difference in the way I play my last move if I know whether or not my
opponent will be getting another move.

The avatar of the player that goes last has a whitening/lightening/
fading around the edges. It's tough to see sometimes, but that's how
you'll know.
