Our monthly club meeting will be this Thursday (5/11) at Kulshan on James Street (not K2). Doors open at 6pm, business will be discussed at 6:30pm, sampling will occur until it's all gone or they kick us out. Join us whenever you can. Meetings are open to anyone who likes to geek out on beer and brewing.

Don't forget:

- Kulshan would like us to enter through the brewery via the doors on Carolina St. Please don't enter through the front.
- Bring a taster glass.
- Bring something to share. Homebrew, or commercial beer if you don't have anything on tap. If you're joining us for the first time and have never attended a meeting before then don't worry about bringing anything, just come check us out!

- We will be conducting a calibration tasting of American Wheat as it's the category for next months club comp.

- We will also be giving a 5 to 10 minute intro of how to make a Gose as it's the club comp beer style for August!

- Lastly if you have a beer you've made and would like it to be BJCP judged bring 1 12oz bottle to turn in. This can be any style beer and a good way to get some feedback. These beers will also be used to train our newer judges!

See you all there!

Just throwin it out there: if you've got a beer made with the SVM wort from Farmstrong, bring it/them and we can do an informal contest. I've got a pound of hops for the winner.

Just wanted to remind everyone - Doug Ranney has offered to host BJCP-style judging every-other-month for ANY beer you want feedback on. This is an awesome way to get experience reading BJCP scoresheets, and will help refine your homebrewing skills. Also, we're a few months out from our Best of the Bay competition, so you have time to get feedback on a beer, improve your process, and re-brew so you can submit the best possible entries.

Along with this is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to have some hands-on learning about BJCP judging. Every month, Doug gets a group of people together to judge club comps or these off-month beers. Let him know if you're interested in learning how to start judging - even if you have no prior experience, he'll pair you with someone who can walk you through the process.

So bring and beer you want judged, and I'll see you tomorrow!

I wasn't able to make the meeting, but I hope everyone had fun.  Doug, can I get you some beer anyway to include in a judging?  Also I would love to be able to help out if you need any.
