Beaglebone: Heat management when close case is in use?

Hi,

I want to build a case for my Beaglebone with LCD7cape, RS232cape
and Audiocape.
The case will enclose the area which is currently limited by the
bottom of the LCD7cape and the four standoffs.

Suppose the Beaglebone will run with 720MHz constantly -- will I need
some heat management (fan, CPU cooler or that alike?) ?

Possibly depending on what the ambient temperature is and what the case is made out of. Can you provide this information?

Hi Gerald,

ambient temperatur is like what one would exspect in a living
rooms ... say 20°C...33C° (68°F...91.4°F).
The case will be made from PCB material: Base material is 1.5mm
epoxyd, one side cupper plated (35 µm).
Currently I want to close the case completly (with ekseptions for
the holes for plugs etc...), which give me the best mechanical
protection for the valuable electronic... :)

What do you think?

I see no issues with this. You can always connect the mounting holes via metal to the case and it will turn the case into a giant heat sink via the copper on the PCB material.
