Good morning folks,

We're working on an update to BBEdit 11 which will add some new
features and address a few recently reported issues.

Note that this is a _pre-release_ version. The intent is to fix
bugs and address areas of improvement based on what our
customers have reported. However, since the software is at this
point not fully tested, there _may_ be bugs and regressions. If
this prospect makes you nervous, then sticking with the public
release versions is your best course of action. Nobody will be
offended if you choose to do so; you're under no obligation to
install and use anything but a public release. :-)

Following is a summary of changes that have been made since the
previous pre-release build. Its notes are available here: <https://groups.google.com/d/msg/bbedit/8gAYQ4kD8_Y/qkyVqcZtDQAJ>.

The change notes are organized into additions, changes, and
fixes, and are annotated where appropriate with case numbers. So
if you recognize a number corresponding to a support case that
was opened for you, you can now verify that it's been fixed
correctly. Please take the time to review the changes before
using the new build -- it'll be worth your time.

One final note: If you run into a bug in a pre-release version,
PLEASE DO NOT REPORT THE BUG TO THE LIST. This includes asking
about whether others have seen the same problem. Instead, please
send a bug report to <sup...@barebones.com> and we will deal
with it there. This will help us keep the list discussion on
topic and productive for all list members.

============================================================================

version 11.5 (3825) (2015-12-16)

Additions
---------

* [313457, 313468] When piping data into the `bbedit` tool, you
can now add a line number specifier, and the insertion point
will be placed at the start of the indicated line in the
resulting document.

`ls -la | bbedit +5`

Changes
-------

* Malformed HTML comments involving unbalanced pairs of dashes
will now trigger an error report from the HTML syntax checker.
(They're already noticeable by incorrect syntax coloring.)

Fixes
-----

* [NFR] [315922] Fixed bug in which current-line highlighting was
drawn where it shouldn't have been, which would lead to thin
slices of it being left behind in some situations when
moving the
selection.

* [NFR] [316485] Fixed a case in which a horizontal scrollbar used
by a hidden document (in multiple-document windows) would bleed
through and be visible in the active document.

* [NFR] [316522] Fixed a couple of regressions in the Perforce support.

* [NFR] Fixed logic for alerting when trying to edit a locked file
that is under Perforce control.

* [304898] Separator generation for "MARK:" comment callouts now
works correctly in C/C++ and PHP files.

* [316565] "Show Fonts" when a Differences window is in front now
does something, and changes in the font panel are applied
to both
text views.

* [266359] Added some symbols to color as predefined names in
C-ish languages. (Mostly stuff from `<stdint.h>`.)
