This is worse than the writeup that was in the DAK catalogue where I
suspect that this was purchased! <gag>

Midwest Micro (and many others) carry 16 bit sound cards well under this
price. 8 bit cards have been passe for almost 2 years and the sound
quality difference is quite noticeable.
The idea that this is some kind of sale price is a little annoying as well.
It's an insult to the intelligence of people reading this group to suggest
that 200 bucks is a reasonable 'regular cost' for this product. Try 20 bucks,
tops. I see this post as either taking advantage of people
who aren't familiar with the state and cost of present technology, or as
evidence of a similar unfamiliarity on the part of the original poster.

If you read the DAK catalog 2 1/2 years ago, that is what it was selling for!

Your 110% correct sound is not my interest, at least not cheap sound. The
only sound ads that I've read are Turtle Beach. No, I don't know what MidWest
Micro is selling their sound cards for, even though I've sold two computers
for them and recieve their catalog on a regular basis.
So, concernig the sound card, if anyone wants a brand new/old technology 8-bit
sound card to play with, in light of what was said above, make me an offer.
