Hello everyone,

How can I verify if a journal is currently indexed in a particular database?

For instance, how can I confirm if a journal is indexed in Scimago?

Good morning Rita,

 

You can search Scimagojr here: https://www.scimagojr.com/journalrank.php

Remember that this website is based on the Scopus database, so probably a good idea to double check Scopus sources here: https://www.scopus.com/sources.uri

 

If a journal claims to be indexed in the Web of Science, it’s also good to check the Clarivate Master Journal List here: https://mjl.clarivate.com/

 

Please note that these aren’t necessarily a guarantee of quality – there are many credible journals that aren’t indexed in Scopus or Web of Science. However, if a journal says it is indexed then it’s always a good idea to verify this with a quick search – as we know, there are deceptive and fake journals out there that claim to be indexed in order to trick you into paying a fee to publish in their poor quality publication.
