Daer Mr. Dasapta,

Good evening!
Thank you very much! What I meant was one of my research work was published
"locally" in our Philippine Journal of Internal Medicine and
Internationally, in the Asean Journal of Endocrine Societies and Neurology
Asia. Whereas before, I only submit my researches to our Philippine
Journal, AuthorAID has given me the confidence to try out to some
international journal. Right now, I and my co-researchers are trying to
answer a peer reviewer comments.
Warmest regards!

Hello all, glad to be back here.

Thank you for your reply.
I see. But did you write in Phillipines language or English?
If you were writing it in English and most of global researchers in your field can understand it, would it be qualified as international?

Cheers,

Secretary General's Message

Dear Colleagues

I bring you greetings from the Association of African Universities (AAU) Secretariat.
On the 3rd of June, 2020 the AAU participated in a webinar organized by the Global Observatory <https://aau.us8.list-manage.com/track/click?u=6cc9eba9342422628d5639f6e&id=13ffcb2b8f&e=0508de0ecb> titled “Internationalizing learning 2.0 - Policy perspectives”. On the 24th June 2020, under the Africa Higher Education Centers of Excellence for Development Impact project we launched a series of webinars to be delivered in French and English as part of the ACE Impact response to the COVID-19 pandemic. These webinars are organized with the objective of enabling ACE Impact university instructors to integrate quality digital resources into their lessons and actively practice online teaching. The target audience is ACE Impact university professors and lecturers.

The AAU invites all Higher Education Stakeholders to a Webinar on quality assurance which will combine presentations and insights from renowned speakers. The Webinar will take place on the 2nd July 2020 (11am GMT) and will be graced by the AAU Secretary General (Prof Etienne E. Ehile) and Her Excellency (Prof Sarah Agbor Anyang), who is the Commissioner of the African Union Human Resources, Science and Technology (HRST) Department. The Governing Board comprises the President of the Association, three Vice-Presidents, 11 other executive heads of member institutions elected at the General Conference to represent the five sub-regions of Africa and the Secretary-General. Secretary General's Message

Dear Colleagues

I bring you greetings from the Association of African Universities (AAU) Secretariat.

On the 3rd of June, 2020 the AAU participated in <https://aau.us8.list-manage.com/track/click?u=6cc9eba9342422628d5639f6e&id=13ffcb2b8f&e=0508de0ecb> a webinar organized by the Global Observatory titled “Internationalizing learning 2.0 - Policy perspectives”. The Global Observatory is a partner of the AAU and aims to create bridges among different regions of the world via multi-lateral research and cooperation projects and initiatives.

Kindly use the following link to register for the event: <https://aau.us8.list-manage.com/track/click?u=6cc9eba9342422628d5639f6e&id=530672dbc3&e=0508de0ecb> https://bit.ly/2N7z1BI

Senior Higher Education leaders are invited to participate in a WACREN organized “Service Outreach Workshop” that is being hosted in collaboration with GÉANT (pan-European RREN) and RENATER (French NREN) to create awareness and foster interest in relevant Research and Education Network services available in the West and Central African region. The virtual workshop is slated for Tuesday, June 30, 2020, on Zoom from 9 am to 11 am UTC. Please <https://aau.us8.list-manage.com/track/click?u=6cc9eba9342422628d5639f6e&id=054b2c9472&e=0508de0ecb> READ MORE.

The AAU will hold its annual Governing Board meeting virtually on the 1st of July 2020. The Governing Board comprises the President of the Association, three Vice-Presidents, 11 other executive heads of member institutions elected at the General Conference to represent the five sub-regions of Africa and the Secretary-General. The Board implements the decisions of the General Conference.

Dear Almojtaba,

That’s an interesting questions. Dimensions and EBSCOhost are good databases, but it depends what you want to use them for.

Are you looking to search for relevant research papers and journals; or do you want to assess the quality/credibility of journals? If so, there are probably other tools and databases we could talk about.

Thanks

Andy

Hi

To my knowledge indexing services are source of aggregated informations. So it should not be used as the indicator of quality, especially at article level.

So what makes a database is better than the other would be:

1. its coverage: Dimensions has wider coberage since it indexes DOI.

2. Types of docs: whether it includes all types of scientific materials (eg from journal articles to e-theses). In this case Dimensions only indexes journal and proceedings articles with DOI. I would say Dimensions is a free version of Scopus and WOS. The free version of Dimensions is complete enought to fit the needs of most researchers.

While EBSCO (pls correct me), it is a subscription-based institutional repository dbase. So it indexes only repository. ROAD in the other hand is like Free version of EBSCO.

3. The filtering system. We use database also to make a drilling analysis on the literature, so you would need a good filtering system. Filtering system is built upon the metadata of the materials. Dimensions and EBSCO are both in similar level on this context.

I hope my explanation is useful for you and other members.

Best,
Dasapta

Yes I want to assess the quality and credibility of some journals in our developing countries those they are indexing there.

I believe that ISI ,Scopus and web of science are the the top ranking tools and database but what about Dimensions , EBSCOhost, indexing ? what are the advantages and disadvantages of each?

I did some searching regarding this issue I found Excel sheet file called Academic search  elite magazines and journals indexing in EBSCOhost (please find Attached) this will give us some ideas about the type of journals indexing there.I noticed also there is column explain if the journals are Peer-Reviewed  or not.

Thank you,
Almojtaba

The covid-19 pandemic has shaken the entire world and disrupted almost all activities. One of the worst affected of our activies is education. Many countries are pondering about re-opening their schools. But even as they do this, nothing is certain. The fear of closing the schools soon after re-opening is real. Perhaps we could also ask ourselves if the school curricula that we are following are the best. Is it possible to have a curriculum that can stand the test of such pandemics are we are currently experiencing?

Are Dimensions , EBSCOhost, and Road indexing good ? what are the

Dear Almojtaba,

That’s an interesting questions. Dimensions<https://app.dimensions.ai/discover/publication> and EBSCOhost are good databases, but it depends what you want to use them for.

Are you looking to search for relevant research papers and journals; or do you want to assess the quality/credibility of journals? If so, there are probably other tools and databases we could talk about.

Thanks
Andy

Daer Mr.

Maria

Thank you for your reply.
I see. But did you write in Phillipines language or English?
If you were writing it in English and most of global researchers in your field can understand it, would it be qualified as international?

Cheers,
