Posts that come from the Sofcom Web site seem to appear like that.

Good God... You started this post so well... How can you think that loser has anything od value to say? He's a misinformed, slimey looking nerfherder, which doesn't belong anywhere on that side of a camera.

Ask Princess Leia. And Han Solo seemed to know what it meant, too.

Heh, you should see them on a UNIX/Linux newsreader... all these "^M"'s at
the end of lines too. Sofcom must be sending articles in DOS ASCII format or
something. These control chars make it a little hard to read sometimes...
(FWIW, this is apparent on the current stable TIN release (see my headers)
and slrn 0.9.6.2/Linux)

Not quite, the plural for nerf is nerf, ......as in fish...so it's a 'herder of nerf.'
(also spelt nerff ).
case 1.; Last night I again saw a herd of nerf.
Herd of nerf ?
I've certainly heard enough
No, no, no, I mean a nerf herd.
I don't care what a nerf heard, I'd prefer to fish.
Which brings us to the word, nerf, in it's adjectival form,
where you 'nerf for nerf'.
Case 2. The nuff nuff had had enough of nerfing for nerf,
. ..and instead went fishing in the surf with the serf.
This should clear things up.
Zoot..................still enjoying the vortex.
knowing about walking carpets makes me civilised? woooooohooooooooo

"In the world before Hoju primal order reigned, and the Fraggle sought a
lift. But the Langdon can only drive when its parents let it have the Saab.
The four roleplaying systems formed again, and yet again as endless
sourcebooks appeared and revised. Time and pure essences of Fraggle, the
moisture of the coca-cola, the powers of the fluorescent light, all worked
on a certain skull that was as hard as a rock, and it became magically
fertile. That brain was called Thought. The Father Morton said, "I'm not
ordering the food, but with our thoughts we should order soon." Elemental
forces caused the egg to hatch. From it came a stone monkey. The nature of
Hoju was... flannelette."

Yes, I know about the BTVS theme by Nerf Herder... I was just wondering what
it actually *meant*

OK, since you caught me out, I'll come clean: early in The Empire
Strikes Back, Han and Leia are arguing, and she calls him a "nerf
herder!" That's it :)

Okay, thanks
Copying straight from A Guide to the Star Wars Universe (1984) a Nerf
is a domesticated herbivore grown for its meat and its pelt. I think
you can work the rest out.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with paying tribute to a classic movie!
