Keys to Position:

Top Technical Skills as per the HM

1.       PHP

2.       Drupal or WordPress

3.       JavaScript, jQuery (they’re starting to do a little work with Angular)

 

If you don’t have jQuery we will consider someone with strong JavaScript experience.

Must have the capability to write scripts from scratch.

Full stack developers would be the best fit for their team

Must be onsite 5 days a week

Interview Process: Technical PS and a F2F interview

Team Size: 5 developers, solely focused on NBA team sites

 

This is an exciting position to work on the NBA teams' websites. High visibility and great reference for future employability!!!!

1. Must have current BOTH front and back-end development expertise

2. Front-end HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery

3. Back-end PHP, Ruby or similar

4. Must have Drupal 7 CMS experience. It is important you ask candidates if they've used Drupal specifically for Content Management.

5. Must have experience with Bootstrap and Compass/Sass framework

6. This is a lead position so excellent communication and demonstrable lead experience will be necessary

 

The Senior Web Developer will be a technical leader and work on new site projects and support needs.

This is a leadership role that requires strong individual contribution and rapid learning of new technologies as you work.

You will need to drive technical recommendations, advise on architecture decisions, build proof of concepts, and mentor peer
developers. You will develop custom Drupal modules and templates using PHP, write JavaScript and jQuery code from
scratch, apply look & feel styling using Compass/SASS, and build code to integrate with internal Turner systems.

You will collaborate daily with project managers, QA testers, and business owners for project requirements, testing, and release
deployments. Problem triage and quick resolution will be needed for any reported site issues.
The Senior Web Developer will need a solid understanding of core web development practices, including client vs.
server implementations, browser-to-server page rendering, web caching, site speed optimization, image formats, and
regular expression usage. You will need to be a problem solver who can dig in to code, explain why a scenario happens,
and identify a practical solution quickly. You should be willing to embrace new challenges and consider different ways to
tackle a technical scenario. You will need the ability to see both the big picture view (“the forest”) and the intricate small
details (“the trees”). You must excel at multi-tasking and being accountable for your work. You will need to be
comfortable advising your peers and non-technical audiences on a right way forward for technical solutions.

You will need to champion coding practices, mentor other developers, and work with other Turner teams for end-to-end
integrations.
Key Skills:
• 5+ years of enterprise-level web experience with high traffic sites and complex UI features
• Experience leading technical projects from concept to deployment
• Experience with Drupal module development, themes, and performance tuning is required
• PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, JSON/XML are required
• Experience with version control (git, svn) is required
• Use of Unix commands and shell scripting is required
• Solid organization and communication skills are required
• Experience with responsive designs is preferred
• Bootstrap, Compass, SASS are a plus
Example work assignments:
• Build a full web page experience using custom Drupal modules and jQuery for a live game dashboard
• Create a Drupal editorial workflow for publishing and curating stories, photos, and video
• Auto import images into Drupal from Getty Images or other image source API
• Build a web prototype with new tech frameworks, and propose a best solution for a new sports project
• Analyze high-traffic web pages for page load timing, make recommendations for performance optimizations
• Mentor peers on high-quality coding practices and technical feasibility decisions
• Work with other Turner brands to build a uniform CMS publishing experience
