Full-time PHP/web development for startup in Midtown

Fulfillment.com is looking to hire a full-time PHP (and hopefully) web developer. Fullfilment.com is a well-funded, rapidly growing 3PL (3rd party logistics) startup based in Savannah with a satellite office here in Midtown.

Candidate will work with a small team to solve a broad set of challenges pertaining to growing and scaling the core business such as: development/implementation of modern, web-facing apis, hardware development in the logistics industry (including computer vision), product design and database architecture, 3rd party service integration, and more. Candidate will work closely with the team -- communication is crucial -- but work environment is largely independent.

Must Haves (Dealbreakers)

• Intermediate experience with PHP OR thorough knowledge/experience with other scripting languages (javascript, ruby, perl)
• Solid experience with object-oriented programming
• Beginner knowledge of RESTful api design/implementation
• Intermediate experience with SQL-based RDBMS
• Experience with git-based source control
• Ability to take initiative on projects with little or no direction from management (good time and task management are essential)
• Comfortable working with remote team
• Excellent communication skills

Most Definitely Want

• Familiar with SoC (separation of concerns) and good coding practices for multi-tiered applications (IoC, design patterns, KISS, DRY, etc.)
• Beginner experience/knowledge of AWS
• Intermediate experience with MySQL
• Comfortable using a debugger
• Beginner experience/knowledge using any ORM (Doctrine, Hibernate, Sequel, Dapper, etc.)
• Beginner experience/knowledge using any web frameworks (Sinatra, Ruby on Rails, Laravel, Symfony, ASP.NET Web Api, Spark, Play, etc.)
• At least beginner experience/knowledge working with unix-based development environments

Would Be Awesome To Have (Deal sweeteners)

• Experience with Laravel 4/5
• Experience with AWS network infrastructure: EC2, VPC, Route 53, Security groups
• Experience with AWS products: RDS, SQS, EC2, Beanstalk
• Experience with Raspberry Pi
• Beginner experience working with project management software(JIRA)
• Experience with design/coding for the web (HTML5, CSS, jQuery, etc.)
• Intermediate experience working with unix-based development environments
• Comfortable working with a CLI

Would Be Nice To Have (Now you're just impressing us)

• Background in logistics, shipping, or warehouse management
• Background (thorough experience) in api design/implementation or micro services
• Experience with IntelliJ/PHPStorm
• Familiar with web development workflow trends (grunt, gulp, npm, pre-processing)
• Experience with React and/or Flux implementations
• Background in web design/development
• Experience in architecting large databases
• Experience with the open-source community (contributor on github)
• Likes good beer
