Presentation by Anthony Green,President, AVAS Technology

APIs are the backbone of modern web applications. Whether they be used as a access point for AJAX queries, mobile apps, 3rd party integrations or just general data feeds, your applications’ API often needs the ability to access everything. Securing the API consequently is essential to the security of your application. This talk will cover the various types of APIs common in web applications, the security issues relevant with the various API types and methods for securing your APIs, and slowing down the hackers.

About Anthony: Anthony has been programming since the mid-nineties, starting with BASIC and C++, then moving to a splattering of data analysis languages, as the situation required. He started developing web applications in 2009, first in Python, then quickly moving to PHP when he realized its greatness. He has worked with just about all the major content management systems and frameworks over the years. He currently leads AVAS Technology and is the lead architect behind the StoneHilt software platform.
