Hey guys,

We are about to seal up all the talks 100% at the API Strategy & Practice Conference in NYC.

I'm looking for any last minute suggestions for what the community needs to hear and discuss?

We've been going over and over the session schedule trying to make sure it has as many diverse areas of discussion across the biz and tech of APIs.

I'm looking for any topics, industries, areas that are forward leaning and would benefit the API community.

I just added one talk on device, sensor based APIs as one example.

What else is forward leaning and would benefit everyone?

Look forward to suggestions!  Thx!

I'd like to hear a talk titled: "api craftsmen: midwives to the singularity".

It will start by comparing Apis to lone neurons and the Internet to synapses. as it becomes easier and easier to connect these Apis, they will being to connect themselves. (After all, an API discovery protocol can't be too far off). The first automated connections will be crude and fragile but the algorithms will be refined till they approach AI.  This AI will be improved by humans at first but then autonomously. Shortly thereafter it will become self aware.

I'd like this talk to be given by someone dressed as a mage.  At the end of the presentation the presenter will pull back his cloak and drop his robe to reveal that he is actually a blob of amorphous liquid metal a la T2.  The blob will ascend slowly till halfway between ceiling and floor and the divide into streams exiting though every portal to the room, disappearing forever.

Or maybe we can wait till next year.  :)

Duuude!  I love it.

How close are you to having this all working?  :)  Will it be REST?  Is this when REST gets back at us?

Sounds like it will have to be a next year discussion.

But I'm holding you to it.  You get to do the talk.

And I expect that grand finale you articulated!

The SemWeb community have been doing this for many years. It's very strange. :)

At the Identity Conference held on last Friday in Tokyo, there was a panel session with a couple of folks from social networks, commerce platform provider, BaaS provider and a solution provider discussing how OAuth2 Framework is profiled for their APIs. It was very practical (e.g. implicit grant support, confidential/public client ratio, state or redirect_uri) and informative for API developers considering OAuth.
