Like he says in the video you don't need everything hooked up. Just need some power and the bind plug. The receiver will get power from any of the channels on the receiver.
So you can unplug everything then put the bind plug in. Then only connected the aux on the receiver to aux on the board to power it up.
The directions below, from the site are a little confusing. BEFORE turning on the transmitter, hold the throttle all the way down and hold the "training" switch up, then turn on the power.
Binding to Receiver
Insert bind plug into receiver and power the craft WITHOUT PROPS ATTACHED. Then turn on the transmitter with throttle all the way down and while holding the bind switch on transmitter in position. Once the light flashing on the receiver changes from fast to slow, turn off the transmitter, remove power from the craft, and remove the bind plug.
If the receiver won't power up, it is possible it is damaged.
